What EyeFilm is—and what it isn’t yet.
Is EyeFilm a Lightroom replacement?
That is the direction, not the current claim. Today, EyeFilm is strongest as a local photo catalogue and discovery workspace. Non-destructive developing, editing, and broader end-to-end photography workflows are planned parts of the product direction.
Do I need to upload my photos?
No. EyeFilm’s current catalogue works with local files, and the project is explicitly designed so photo and catalogue data do not need to be uploaded in order to organize the library.
Does EyeFilm change my original files?
Current catalogue operations do not edit, move, or delete the source photographs. Ratings, labels, notes, collections, recognition data, and other catalogue information are stored separately.
Is EyeFilm finished?
No. EyeFilm is under active development. The current preview is already usable for catalogue work, but rough edges and changing capabilities should be expected while the product grows.
